Have you ever felt stuck in your career?
Or wondered just how today’s work will benefit your long-term growth?
Or questioned whether you’re developing your own career, or someone else’s?
I’m Jake. I’ve been an engineering manager for the past eight years. In this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of tremendous people. And no matter how talented the engineer, or how skilled the manager, many of us neglect to drive our careers. We get stuck in our daily tasks that support someone else’s plans.
I believe everyone has the ability to succeed in their careers. And the main difference is simply making purposeful choices. To use our time and our talent with intention. And focus on growing every day.
I started this blog to force my own improvement. To learn and think about new tactics. To try new things and experiment. And just get out of my comfort zone.
So this is me as I experiment, make mistakes, and hopefully learn something. And work on making a little bit of progress every day.
Thanks for checking out this site. I’m always interested in your feedback and suggestions. I’d love to hear from you.
